About the association:
The Medical and dental association of Swaziland has been in existence since the 1970’s.
Operations of the associations are guided by its founding constitution.
Vision:
We envision a growing Association with, through the efforts of its diverse members, contributing powerfully to the needs of the medical profession and enabling it to serve the community at large more effectively.
Main objectives
The association’ main objectives (as articulated in its founding constitution):
1. To promote the medical, dental and allied sciences, and to maintain the honour and interests of the medical and dental professions
2. To hold or to arrange the holding of periodical meetings of the members of the association and of the medical and dental professions generally
3. To circulate such information as may be thought desirable by means of a periodical journal, which shall be the journal of the association, and by the occasional publication of transactions or papers
4. To grant sums of money out of the funds of the association for the promotion of the medical, dental and allied science in such a manner as from time to time be determined on
5. To support the welfare of the members of the association
The association also strives to unify all the healthcare professionals working in the various sectors in Swaziland.
It is the collective voice for medical and dental practitioners in Swaziland
It represents doctors and dentists with authority and credibility in all matters concerning their interests and welfare in the healthcare environment in Swaziland.
It strives to uphold and maintain the integrity and image of the medical and dental professions in Swaziland. This is done through promoting professional and ethical practices in medicine that will ensure improved overall healthcare delivery in the country.
Membership
Membership is open to all medical practitioners (general practitioners and specialists) and dental practitioners registered with the Swaziland Medical and Dental Council in terms of the Medical and Dental act of 1970 (or as amended).
Membership is also open to medical and dental students.

Member benefits include
· Periodical updates on issues relating to the health profession including legislature
· Updates on Continuing Medical activities (CME) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD)activities and other healthcare initiatives taking place in the country
· Representation for its members in matters affecting the health profession and their welfare
Affiliation
The medical and dental association of Swaziland is affiliated to CMA
Becoming a member:
Kindly fill-in the membership form (found in the documents page) and hand it over to the treasurer or any member of the Association’s executive.
Subscriptions can be made directly to the treasurer or any member of the executive. payments can also be made during the association's CMEs and other functions, as through EFT.
